RIP ALAN BEAN, 1932-2018

Fox News is reporting that Apollo 12 Lunar Module Pilot Al Bean, has died. He was 86.

As the fourth man to walk on the Moon, Al Bean, joined Pete Conrad and Dick Gordon on what may be the funnest journey to the lunar surface. He also had the dubious honor of frying out the Apollo Lunar Camera, so that nobody could enjoy watching the moon walk on TV. Oh Well, It was still a great mission, and one that would never get out of Bean's system, as he came home and started painting iconic portraits of his experience on the moon.

Bean also was commander of Skylab 2, before retiring and becoming an artist full time.
