Computer Engineer Finds First Apollo Guidance Computer In Scrapheap

Incredible story of how the first Apollo Guidance Computer was almost lost to history. The core rope memory modules to the AGC for AS 202, or the first Apollo test flight, were mysteriously scrapped, rather than being sent to the Smithsonian. But thanks to a keen eye of a engineer who spotted the Core Rope memory models at a scrap metal auction, they were saved and stored for nearly 40 years. Now a computer engineer is seeking to unravel the program, which was thought to have been lost.
